Summary: Yikes!!
Comments: Was I ever disappointed by this!! When I saw the word "encyclopedia" I assumed that's what it was, and that it was going to be a great one. however the information within is terribly scarce. The author seems to have purchased only his favorites to include, when really all stones and metals should (In my opinion, even if they're not expensive or popular) be covered at least in passing, and left out a variety of information about the materials themselves and instead talked about just the more common magical uses and folklore. Anyone looking for information on stones, crystals, and the like can get better than this. |

Summary: Incomplete however with some uses
Comments: Not the best book by Cunningham I have ever read. While it gives some interesting ideas the encyclopedia is incomplete. It might be useful as a stepping stone however not as a definitive source of information (however isn't that why you want an encyclopedia). The almost all important thing to remember (that occured to me after purchaseing this book and disagreeing with almost all of his associations with the stones) is that no1can tell you how an herb or stone or whatever is going to aid you. You have to work with them and discover for yourself. This book could encourage cookie cutter magic and spiritual laziness. I do enjoy the book for the thorough research he has done on the the folklore of the stones and as a starting point for making my own. Cunningham is a great author, he just can not deliver in this instance. |

Comments: I was pretty disappointed with this book. While there is some information in it, I found it to be lacking. There are many stones with many uses. I had hoped that more would have been covered. Also the book had few pictures. I would not endorse this book. |
