Summary: Black & Decker DirtBuster: filters
Comments: Satisfaction with this product is quite great, until it comes to the problem of locating the filters that fit in the dust bin. I have tried all locations: Home Depot, Ace Hardware, Target, Bed Bath & Beyond. None of them carry the filter, only the vac. Even the Black & Decker website offers no help. Can anyone tell me where to purchase the oblong filter encase in plastic? Help!!!! |

Comments: This vac is not intended to be your primary vacuum. It is light weight and easy to handle. I purchased it for my children to use, to help out around the house. They love it. I use it for small jobs. The canister is easy to empty and not messy at all, in my opinion. I think it's great!! I do not know how much it costs new. I purchased mine from a thrift store, however it looked brand new. I probably wouldn't spend over $40.00 on it new. |

Comments: This vacuum cleaner is the reason I am on-line right now - It's so bad that I am looking for another one. The parts are cheap and it can not handle more than2rooms at a time. When you empty the canister, dust gets EWHERE. This has been an awful vacuum cleaner. I have tried new filters, pulling hair out of the brush, and emptying it after each room. It still will not pick up pieces of fuzz from my carpet. however it does pick up dust, so at least it does something right. you are better off looking elsewhere if you do not want to be disappointed!! |

Summary: great value for small apartments
Comments: handy tool. well designed. NOT a ton of suction-however I have 2 dogs so have special requirements. LOVE the fact that the handle comes off and you can just pick up the base, stick on the hose and vacuum bookshelves and cabinets. ALSO, you can turn off the rotors when you do this so it is SAFE. You can also put the roters on if you want too....
impressed with the design ofthis unit. It is NOT a replacement for a $400 cyclone (if you have wall--wall carpets or several pets-get one) however a neat tool. Light enough for alalmost all anyone to use too...
If you have a house purchase this for a 2nd vacuum to keep on the secondary level. |

Summary: Clean & Powerful however Noisy
Comments: I purchased this for my new apartment thinking it would be a quick and easy way to clean the floors (all hardwood and tile, with lots of throw rugs). It does the job with power to spare -- maybe *too much* power!! I feel like I am holding a jet engine, and it's about as loud. I also had forgotten how much of a pain cords can be. Granted, this cord is *really* long, however you still have to take cord maneuvering into account when you are cleaning. (On the plus side, I do not have to scramble to clean before the charge runs out.) The attachments could be handier, too; the Shark has a great stand for them, however this just comes with a cloth bag that definitely doesn't fit them all. They work terrific, when I can figure out which ones do what. It's not intuitive, and they're all vaguely similar, however not quite. Still, I like the flexibility. And of course, it does a *terrific* job cleaning. The suction power is *intense*, and it has worked on e surface I have presented, from hardwoods and tile to throw rugs and upholstery. however it sure could be quieter!! And I am still on a search for the HEPA filter. It has a handy indicator to show you when the filter needs replacing, and it's needed it much sooner than I anticipated. The dirt cup is easy to empty and replace, and has great capacity. Maybe those are the tradeoffs, though; for the suction power, you exchange quiet and cordless convenience, and for the excellent cleaning and pure exhaust, you trade frequent filter changes. |
