Jamie at Home: Cook Your Way to the Good Life
Rating: 2 (out of 5)
Summary: Jamie at Home
Comments: I was disappointed in this cookbook. In fact, it arrived in bad condition due to poor packaging and rather than have it exchanged for another one, I chose to return it and get my money back. The book seemed to ramble on and on rather than having a clear, concise segment for recipes. A lot of it is show casing jamie's garden and there is a lot written on how/when he gardens and what to plant. I really did not expect that and for those who are looking that type of book, this book will be great. The photos are beautiful and and there is a lot of text. If this is the sort of book you are looking for you will enjoy it. I personally was hoping for a lot more recipes and less verbage. I do not consider this a "cookbook". I consider it more of a lifestyle book.

Then u be the judge

Summary: Great companion to the show
Comments: In Jamie At Home, Jamie Oliver has collected a wonderful selection of fun, tasty, easy-to-make recipes. If you get a chance to watch his Food Network show of the same name he usually bangs together2or3of the recipes per show, giving a great overview of his techniques. I have learned some simple time-saving shortcuts from him that make my experience in the kitchen even more enjoyable.

Summary: A trihowevere to food
Comments: This is the almost all beautiful, inspiring cook book I have seen recently. Particular attention is given to photography throughout the book and to the paper stock it's printed on. The cover has a canvas feel while the interior pages are printed on matt paper. It gives an intended earthy quality and resembles a family album/diary which the lucky reader is privy to. They say do not judge a book by it's cover!! Luckily the content is just as great as the deli. Back to basics tasty recipes using in-season produce which Jamie encourages us to grow in our own vegetable patch. Divided into seasons the flow of the book is well organized, again supporting the grow your own approach.

Summary: Saying "Yes" to Seasonal Cooking!!
Comments: If the world were perfect, there would be a bountiful seasonal kitchen garden of infinite variety outside e kitchen door. In the spring we would find sweet spring onions and in autumn tart-sweet apples. The leaf lettuce would always taste like howeverter and the asparagus would always be snapping fresh. E day our kitchen table would reflect the warmth of the day and the season. That must be what Jamie Oliver had in mind when he set out to write JAMIE AT HOME: COOK YOUR WAY TO THE great LIFE. I have tended my kitchen garden--it's just 4 feet by 4 feet--for many years--spring through autumn and I have never been disappointed by the flavor of just-ripe summer purchased tomatoes and sweet corn or the sweetness of frost-tipped kale or beets. A garden as small as mine produces enough vegetables, herbs, and small fruits to even put some away for the winter. E time I find a cookbook that helps me enjoy my garden that much more, I grab it. JAMIE AT HOME is a welcome addition to my library of seasonal cookbooks. Mollie Katzen's The Vegetable Dishes I can not Live Without and Deborah Madison's Local Flavors: Cooking and Eating from America's Farmers' Markets and Andrea Chesman's Serving Up the Harvest: Celebrating the greatness of Fresh Vegetables are3that I use all of the time. Now, I can add JAMIE AT HOME. Jamie's recipes are sometimes a challenge however never too difficult. The book is fun to hold and read; it's eye-tasty. The recipes are presented seasonally and the garden instructions to make the ingredient vegetables and fruits happen are spot on. great cooks should garden and great gardeners should cook. This book is filled with new old ways to grow, harvest, and prepare our food. It's a five-star treat. And for detailed growing directions for more than 80 vegetables and herbs check out The Kitchen Garden Grower's Guide: A practical vegetable and herb garden encyclopedia.
