Summary: Imodium A-D Stops Diarrhea in its Tracks
Comments: Imodium A-D is1of the better products for controlling common diarrhea and I have been using it on and off again for many years. I generally do not suffer from diarrhea (I experience constipation far more frequently), however when I do, I am quick to take an over- the- counter drug to bring the problem to an end.
What I like best about these pills are the effectiveness and the ease of taking them. almost all important of these2qualities is the quick relief. Within a short time after taking2pills,1can feel the changes take effect. The runniness starts to disappear quickly, and rarely do I have the need to take another dose. The initial dosage of2pills is more than enough to bring almost all bouts with diarrhea to a swift halt.
Imodium has made these pills easier to take than in the past. Many years ago, the tablets were larger and more difficult to swallow. Now, they are about half the size, making it easy to swallow with a small amount of water. In fact, the pills are so small that it is easy to accidentally drop them when removing from the package. There is little pill to grip, so you need to remove carefully or else risk dropping the pill on the floor.
As far as side effects, Imodium A-D can cause drowsiness or dizziness. When I have used them, I am usually sleepy or fatigued anyway so I haven't really noticed whether or not the pills are making me drowsier than before. When I have reached the point of taking Imodium A-D, I am typically worn out anyway so I can not comment on whether or not this product causes drowsiness or dizziness.
One unintended side effect that can result from taking Imodium A-D is constipation. The product performs its task well; so well, that if you take too many tablets your diarrhea can quickly disappear and turn into the opposite problem. This is why I usually limit my intake to no more than2pills. Any symptoms of diarrhea I once had are long gone after2pills. Taking a third or fourth pill can plug the intestines, leading to constipation.
Imodium A-D is sold in several package sizes ranging from6to forty-8pills. almost all people do not suffer from diarrhea frequently enough to justify the purchase of a large package and opt for the smaller6or12 count package instead. To get customers to purchase larger packages, Imodium prices this product in a way that offers great financial incentives for purchaseing in bulk. almost all e consumer great has a similar pricing strategy however it is even more pronounced with Imodium A-D. As you purchase larger and larger packages, the price per pill diminishes rapidly, tempting the consumer to stock up, even when the likelihood of use isn't great. I get frustrated when I purchase these caplets for that reason. I do not need diarrhea medication frequently, however I feel stupid paying1price for6caplets when I can get twice as many for only about20 percent more cost and twice as many again for another15 percent additional cost.
Overall, Imodium A-D is a highly effective product for eliminating the problem of diarrhea. It is easy to take and a couple of pills will usually eliminate the problem quickly and painlessly, returning your stool to the nice, solid texture it once enjoyed. Diarrhea is a messy condition, so it makes sense to eliminate the problem quickly- something that Imodium A-D does with ease and efficiency.

Summary: Loperamide HCI
Comments: This is an interesting item and well-priced here at Amazon, cheaper then other retailers and stores. This is the smaller version Imodium offers, coming with 24 light-green caplets.
Loperamide is chemically related to the piperadine-narcotic Meperidine (brand name: Demerol). Demerol is an opioid agonist that causes constipation and severe pain-relief. Loperamide, however, does not break the Blood-Brain Barrier in sufficient quantities to cause euphoria or analgesia. However, recent research has shown that when Loperamide is taken with Polysorbate 80 or Quinidine, the addition of P-glycoprotein inhibitors breaks the blood-brain-barrier (B/B/B) therefore causing Mu-Opioid receptor activation causing long lasting analgesia and euphoria. Insufflating Loperamide has also shown to aid in loperamide breaking into the B/B/B, although not as well as when taken with said inhibitors.
Upon being introduced this drug was a Schedule V substance because research showed after high doses being used for a long period of time caused minor withdrawals similar to that of other opioids. Now, Loperamide is available in any store without a prescription, and is not a scheduled substance. Non-approved uses include minor temporary physical relief of withdrawal symptoms caused by opioids such as Heroin, Oxycodone, Kratom and the like.
The medication is only approved for relief of diarrhea and works well, and supplies long lasting relief. Loperamide helps ingestion problems and is widely used all over the world.
Just a little quick background on Imodium AD, and its active ingredient Loperamide Hydrochloride (also sold as equivalent generics by Western Family, Equate, and other cheaper brands.) Hope this has been informative. |

Summary: This Product Really Works
Comments: I have had intestinal flu with the accompaning severe diarrhea, and after taking2doses of Imodium AD the "runs" were gone, and I was done "running" to the bathroom!! No more "running" to the bathroom for me. I keep1packet in my bathroom and1in my suitcase.
This is a great product and works as stated.
