Rating: 5 (out of 5) Summary: GREAT for work - you hear the music & your coworkers Comments: There are literally thousands of headphones out there that will block out all sorts of external noise. An odd request, however I was looking for headphones that did just the opposite - I need to hear what's going on around me (if someone calls my name, or mentions a project that I am working on), however I also want to listen to music!! Besides the *expensive* Sony MDR-F1 speakers, which these are loosely based on (my guess), these are the only headphones that I could find that make an effort to open the backs completely. The sound quality is great for the price, and size of the driver (50mm!!). If youre needs are as specific as mine, get these things!! |
Rating: 3 (out of 5) Summary: great look'n Headphones however not an Comments: These phones are1of the best looking phones on the market, even though it is just all plastic. Construction quality was great though1cushion was sewed differently than the other however what can you expect for [inexpensive]headphones.I purchased it due to1magazine saying it sounded great, however I found it not "airy" sounding at all, especially in the bass due to it's open back. It sounded pretty plain, like any other cheap headphone however I am no headphone expert and I haven't listened to other phones much to compare. I did have a KOSS ESP-950 and if I recall the1song I compared it with, I wasn't drawn into it like I remember where I wanted to listen to it over and over. That's when I think I changed my mind. Maybe you might find it different as all our musical taste and ears differ. At a [$$$] dollar level it might sound a tad better than the rest at that level, if not, it's at least1great-looking headphone. |
Rating: 3 (out of 5) Summary: Comfortable yes...however heavy Comments: These headphones are quite comfortable. The cord is long, like3times longer than what I need. However the only thing I do not like about these headphones are they are rather heavy. After wearing them for only a short while, my neck begins to hurt and I get a headache. I need to try and make them not put so much pressure on my head when they are worn. Other than that, they produce nice sound, and do not crush my ears at all. |
Rating: 4 (out of 5) Summary: comfortable headphone Comments: While these aren't the "hands down best sounding headphone" I have ever had the pleasure of listening to, they are comfortable and they sound quite great, even attached to my laptop. Yes, I must confess that I purchased these almost allly for something to use at work that "wasn't too expensive" yet "listenable" - plus, my past experiences with Aiwa have, overall, been great.I can wear these for a few hours and not really notice them or be too uncomfortable - they're light, the cord's nice and long and pliable, and they fit well enough to stay on yet aren't so encroaching as to make you want to take them off "to let your head or ears breathe," if you know what I mean. These certainly aren't audiophile level, however for the price, they are , great in my opinion. Now to finish constructing a decent headphone amplifier to "open them up" a bit more... |
