Rating: 1 (out of 5) Summary: Poor quality Switch Comments: Died today after under 2 years of service. That's pretty terrible for a basic piece of equipment. I have switches from 15 years ago that still work fine.
Had to reset the switch fairly often(e 4 months or so). Drove me nuts making me think our DSl modem or Cisco router was buggy. Would work for a while and then just stop passing traffic.

Rating: 1 (out of 5) Summary: We've stopped purchaseing linksys Comments: Linksys appears to be riding on their reputation. During the 1990s, their stuff was top notch and we purchased nothing however Linksys. Then, they were purchased by Cisco, and their quality appears to have nosedived since then.
We had the exact same experience as another poster, with indicator lights remaining on after the plugs were pulled from the corresponding sockets, and within a day, the whole unit died.
We've stopped purchaseing Cisco/Linksys and found Netgear products to be what Linksys used to be: well made at attractive prices. I'd suggest anyone looking to purchase Linksys products look into Netgear instead. |
Rating: 1 (out of 5) Summary: Bad Product and an even worse Customer Service Comments: purchased2of then in a span of 6 months. Both went bad. Spent 3 hours with customer services - approx. 2 hours on hold, and1hour talking to various reps. whose English pronunciations were sad (to say the least). Hopefully, after I send these back they will refund my money. If they replace these2units I suppose the story starts again !!!! I wish we have negative points - they would have aced it!! |
Rating: 2 (out of 5) Summary: Bad customer service!!!! Waste my time for nothing!! Comments: My office purchased this EF4124 switch in June 2006. It was working fine without problem. however recently, our IT people unpluged it for re-routing wires, after they put the wire back, it was not working.
Then we called LinkSys customer service for RMA, however they needed us to talk to the technical support 1st in order to activate the case ID. Ok, we would do it, however we had waited 30 mins, and no1purchased up the phone. Before calling the technical support, we had talked to many different customer service representatives. Just felt like they were taking us around different departments.
We may try to call back later for activating the case ID when we feel happier. Also, we need to fill out the online form with that case ID again.
This switch is great, however you will feel disappointed from the Linksys customer service when it is broken. |
Rating: 5 (out of 5) Summary: Great Switch!! Comments: Easy to install. I replaced a 24 port 3Com product which had a chattering port. This item installed easy and works great. The only thing I would change is the power cord. You need right angle cord to mount the swith in some mount brackets |
