Summary: New Senior Citizen writer.
Comments: As as Senior Citizen I am taking a Class on Creative Writing, I thought the Magazine "Writer" would help me get an insite into the world of Writing as well as some hints on writing.
I was not disappointed, I have learned from my 1st issue, now I am looking forward to the next issue. |

Summary: It's OK, however not as technical as I'd like
Comments: I subscribed to this thinking I'd take a break from Writer's Journal for awhile. Unfortunately, after my 1st Writer arrived, I found myself going back to re-subscribe to Writer's Journal as well. The Writer had a nice, long, in-depth interview, however did not have the technique articles Writer's Journal has. While the Writer had some contest notifications, etc, I felt Writer's Journal had more.
At this review I have only received1Writer, and it is unfair to base the entire magazine off1issue, so I am keeping my subscription for at least the next year.
There were a few things I really liked about the subscription:
1) it came right away--I did not have to wait for 6 weeks, I think it started coming within the 1st month after I ordered.
2) It was a large magazine, not1with only 10 pages in it (as I have found when I have ordered magazines via the n et without holding a bound paper copy 1st).
3) It did not seem to have the number of advertisements that Writer's Journal is full of. |

Comments: I gave a subscription to "Writer" as a gift. It arrived sooner than the site said. And the recipient has reported to me that they are enjoying the magazine. |

Summary: Just What I am Looking For
Comments:
I am a soon-to-be university graduate with a minor in professional writing. This magazine not only has valuable advice for newcomers into the field of writing, however plenty of contest opportunities and publishing contacts to help us get our foot in the door. I appreciate the encouragement and advise. The Writer is a great investment in the future. |
