Product Reviews: Netgear WG511NA Wireless G Pc Card |
Rating: 1 (out of 5) Summary: Worked for around 3 months Comments: The card was easy to install and seemed to work great, however it only worked about 3 months. After that it conked out, and when we called Netgear for support they said it was a refursbished card and they couldn't help me. So I was impressed while it worked, however the reliability leaves something to be desired. |
Rating: 1 (out of 5) Summary: JUNK, DID NOT WORK, WAS RECONDITIONED NO WARNING Comments: I purchased this WI-FI card to use on my notebook computer and when I had troubles with the card. I called the company and when I was unable to submit a serial number (there was a blank space where the serial number was supposed to be) they told me then it was reconditioned.
There was no disclaimer of this and to say the least I was PO'd. No wonder the card gave me dismal performance. It would require me to reboot e time I used the computer. This was a giant hassle and to say the least I jerked the card out of the notebook and inserted the old Linksys WI-FI card and set it up and never looked back.
I ended up selling this reconditioned card for next to nothing loosing my investment. The card was not expensive, however it was the idea of the fact, it was reconditioned without telling me it was so. |

Rating: 5 (out of 5) Summary: Perfect for the Job Comments: After several disappointing experiences with WiFi adapters (e.g., see my review for the Sabrent PCI-G802), I tried going with a PCMCIA-based version. This1worked perfectly and with little effort.1of the almost all satisfying products I have ever purchased from Amazon. |
Rating: 5 (out of 5) Summary: Pleased With Purchase Comments: I wanted a wireless laptop card to use in a old computer using Windows ME as the operating system. After some research I discovered that not many cards claimed to work with ME. I ended up ordering the Netgear WG511NA Wireless G Pc Card. The deli time was prompt, as always, from Amazon. I installed the included software, plugged the card in and was automatically on the internet. No problem with installation and no problem with the card. I highly endorse this card to those who have an older operating system. |
