Product Reviews: KitchenAid Stainless-Steel 2-Quart Porcelain Teakettle, Red |
Rating: 2 (out of 5) Summary: Not happy Comments: I have had the worst luck with this tea kettle. It is cute and appears great on the stove, however there are many problems with it that I threw it away this morning. 1st of all, neither the lid nor the spout fit tightly, so steam escapes around the lid, making it hard to grasp the handel and pour the water. Speaking of pouring the water, it pours terribly. Maybe I should have filled the kettle more, however I do not like to wait to boil more water than I need. You have to tilt the kettle so much to get any water out of it. It sputters a lot too. And last week it stopped whistling altogether. I have had it about 3 months. I guess appears aren't ething!! |
Rating: 5 (out of 5) Summary: Great!! I love it!! Best price on the internet!! Comments: The red tea kettle add so much to my red, white and black kitchen, It is high tech, and I love it, it goes well with my red fan, too. And the price is the lowest on the net. It's $49.99 all over the net. It works well too, and great styling. |
Rating: 5 (out of 5) Summary: appears great, love the handle Comments: After using this kettle, I decided to purchase other cookware in this KitchenAid Red line. I especially like the way the handle remains cool to the touch. And no, despite other reviews, it does not drip when I use it. |
Rating: 3 (out of 5) Summary: More Stylish Than Practical Comments: I have a matching set of cookware, so I purchased the tea kettle. The biggest problem is that the spout does not open far, so it is hard to fully empty the kettle. You cannot fill it through the spout. You have to open the lid, which may be hot if you have just used the kettle, and always has condensation on the underside. Even that opening is not easy to fill, as the kettle handle is in the way. The lid does not fit properly, so that it hisses and rattles before the tea kettle actually whistles. The lever to open the spout is not as convenient as the kind that is built into the handle. I am not ready to toss it, however it did not meet expectations. |
Rating: 5 (out of 5) Summary: pretty, functional, excellent customer service Comments: Received this kettle quickly from amazon.com and the price was fantastic. When I opened the packaging, the adhesive scotch tape used to hold the lid in place tore off2large (1-inch square) pieces of red porcelain enamel..!! I immediately called kitchenaid customer service (phone number is listed on info card included in packaging) and explained the situation. They offered to replace the kettle immediately if I would fax them my receipt, which I did.4days later my brand new kettle arrived and removal of the scotch tape did not incur any damage. Fantastic customer service!!!! This kettle boils water and appears pretty sitting on the stove. |
