Product Reviews: Hitachi UU610 Universal Miter Saw Stand |
Rating: 3 (out of 5) Summary: not bad, however far from perfect Comments: I purchased this UU610 to work with a Hitachi C10FSH. pros: *pretty stable. *great leg folding mechanism. *work supports and stop are pretty great minuses: *IMO, doesn't really work with the C10FSH. You can not position the saw to balance it properly. *this is really an erector set that appears like a miter saw stand when you are finished. Personally, I think it is stupid to have the customer spend a couple of hours doing what the factory could do in 5 minutes. This is compounded by the fact that the directions are awful, pictures, no words. It's not that the assembly is *hard* - it's not. It's that having to do this work is totally unnecessary and would add $10 to the price.
In the end, a pretty great universal saw stand, once you suffer through the assembly. I guess I assumed that Hitachi would design the stand to fit properly with Hitachi saws. Wrong. This problem can easily be fixed with a plywood adaptor, and I'll probably make one. I just expected more from Hitachi, especially for $240. |
Rating: 5 (out of 5) Summary: Really nice Stand Comments: I purchased this stand a few years back on Amazon and I am now reviewing it. The stand has worked better than expected. I have taken it on many jobs doing work with Habitat for Hummanity, as well as use it in my shop and at home. Being tossed in the bed of my pickup probably caused more damage to my truck bed than to this thing.
I can certainly say it is built well with strong locking legs, a sturdy top frame and arm extensions. I use my DeWalt 10" mitre saw which seems like a perfect marriage with this stand. I was worried the saw might be too much for this stand, however I was wrong. It is surprisingly light weight for the sturdiness, strength and durability it has.
I had looked at many others, and even compare it to others at job sites and still have not found1that I thought was better. This1today still performs as well as the day i got it. I highly reccomend this product. |
Rating: 1 (out of 5) Summary: Flimsy stand Comments: Purchased this stand about a year ago and should have returned it however I did not. This is a wobbly stand and not sturdy enough to work safely with. The ridgid stand is much more solid, although heavy, however well worth the money. This stand is definitely not worth $219......The ridgid stand is on sale now for $99 |
Rating: 4 (out of 5) Summary: Great Product - Ships with Accessories !!!! Comments: Just purchased the Hitachi UU610 stand (Tracrac). did not think the wheel kit or the entension stop were necessary. Guess What ?? Both add-ons are included in the box!!!! Isn't life grand.... |
Rating: 3 (out of 5) Summary: OK, could be better Comments: It's an ok unit. fairly heavy duty. great for Long term set up. not so great for daily set up and brake down. heavy!!
On the up side...
1.This thing is solid. 10" slider stays in place. 2. The locking system is quicker and safer than Dewalt's. (lost a saw on Dewalts do to not fully locked in) 3. Has wheels so you can leave the saw on and transport
down side of it.
1. fairly hard to get built - setup 1st time!!(plan on a better part of a day) 2. can not leave extensions unlocked because they sag. May times while working I need to quickly slide the ext. arm in or out. when you unlock it the arm twists/sags so the material isn't flat. 3. getting to the locks on the arms can be a pain if you have the ext set so the lock is under the saw. Hard to find1on back. 4. came with wheels however no handle (though a standard cabinet handle lines up, all I had to do was use a spacer so you can get your hand on it)
to sum up. if you want light weight, quick, light, easy setup and brake down get the dewalt
If you want a nice stable shop stand that you can move if needed, If you can set up on a site in1place, get this. |
