Product Reviews: DeLonghi HR715 Retro Convection Heater |
Rating: 3 (out of 5) Summary: Beautiful, not the best design for function though Comments: This is the almost all beautiful space heater known to man. I want to put it on a pedestal in the middle of the room so eone can stare at it. I want to make it small and wear it around like a little hat, or take a picture of it and carry it in my wallet. What I do *not* want to do is wait for the thing to heat a room. do not get me wrong, it heats just fine. however the heat goes straight up. Which is generally not where a person is located unless, like me, you are hovering over the thing trying desperately to get warm before hopping into icy sheets at night. The heat just drifts out of it, does not blow in any direction, making your ceiling warm I am sure, however not terribly effective unless you want to turn the thing on an hour before bed, or have a ceiling fan blowing the heat back down on you. It also does not have a timer, so you can not turn it on and go to bed knowing it will shut itself off before you dehydrate and wake up with your throat feeling like straw in the middle of the night. Likewise, if you are like me, you cannot leave the thing going and know that you will not forget to come back and turn it off so your house does not burn down.. it will not turn itself off when you forget to10hours later.
however damn, the thing is gorgeous. :( |
Rating: 3 (out of 5) Summary: Not the Best, however It's Pretty!! Comments: I purchased it for its appears. I am sick of having to look at those beige/tan radiators. appears it delivers. It heats pretty well. The only real drawback is the noise. When it cycles on, it hums, and then clicks when it cycles off. |

Rating: 1 (out of 5) Summary: Quiet, however WEAK... Comments: I needed a heater that was perfectly silent, so my woman could sleep. I had to return3of them. Thank you, Lowes, for your patience.
The fourth1was a Delonghi HR715. It filled the bill as far as being totally silent. however it put out about as much heat as a toaster. I can put my hand on top of it, and not get burned even slightly. Toaster BTU's, from a box the size of a small suitcase.
My Holmes Quartz heater puts out at least5times as much heat, as reported by my shins. The problem is that both labels state that they consume 1500 watts of electricity. If the Delonghi really is pulling 1500 watts to produce the heat of a toaster, it will never get plugged in again at my house.
Anybody wanna purchase one?

Rating: 1 (out of 5) Summary: do not do it. This thing is bad news. Comments: I purchased this heater and returned it because it did not work properly and the advertising is misleading. Regardless of the temperature setting, it shut off only minutes after being turned on. The photos of it are deceptive. In the photos, the finish appears chrome. In reality, it's a metallic metallic grey finish on the sides, with chrome feet, top and ends. There is no "vintage cloth cord." Instead it has a thick black plastic cord. It's poorly made, feels cheap and has sharp edges on the feet that WILL scratch wood floors. Make no mistake, this heater will leave you cold. |
