Product Reviews: Arrow Fastener ETFX 50 Heavy Duty Professional Electric Staple and Nail Gun |
Rating: 2 (out of 5) Summary: Not up to Arrow Standards Comments: When chosing this tool I did so contrary to other reviews. I have used Arrow staplers for over 30 years and they have always been great. The ETFX 50 was the highest priced. I expected more. To the nuts and bolts. The tool is cheaply made and tinny. It jambs regularly. About2jambs per 1 stick of staples. You will need to keep a pair of vice grip pliers available to pull the jambed staples out of the machine. The tool does not drive the staples flush. The Stanley TRE 550 is just as great at a lot less money. |
Rating: 3 (out of 5) Summary: great for around the house Comments: I would consider this far from a "Heavy Duty Professional" staple gun however it works well enough for the price. The main problem so far as been a tendency for it to jam frequently. My wife has used it for some light duty upholstery work and really enjoyed it, until she called me to unjam it. I would still endorse the product, just do not set your expectations too high for it. |
Rating: 1 (out of 5) Summary: do not waste time or money!! Comments: I tested the stapler with 5 staples when I 1st received it. A few days later I used it and after only 2 staples it jammed!! I could not un-jam the stapler and had to finish the project using my old faithfull manual stapler. And to answer the customer service question here, YES I did use Arrow T50 staples!! |

Rating: 1 (out of 5) Summary: Broke after 200 staples Comments: I purchased this stapler based on the brand. I have had great experiences with Arrow in the past and my current manual stapler is solid. I have a bunch of stapling to do, installing insulation in my attic. The stapler worked quite well for the 1st 200 or so staples, however then quit working. It would actuate, however the hammer wouldn't move. Turns out, the part that connects the electric plunger to the hammer broke. Upon inspection, it doesn't look like a particularly great design (I am a mechanical engineer). Other users do not seem to have the problem, and I was impressed with the stapler prior to its demise. Perhaps this was an anomaly.
When I called Arrow, I thought they would send out a replacement part and I'd be on my way again fairly quickly. Instead, they told me to contact the seller. I did, and I amazon quickly sent me an RMA and mailing label. I am returning the tool and I am not going to replace it. |
