Rating: 1 (out of 5) Summary: Palm IIIxe will not sync Comments: The product came without any manuals and after trying ething I could think of I could not get this device to sync. Finally gave up after calling Amazon and being redirected to several different other numbers to get this fixed. Finally gave up and sent this back. The box it came in looked it had been wet and the pieces looked they were thrown together. |
Rating: 5 (out of 5) Summary: Oldie however a greatie!! Comments: I found1of these at a yard sale with2cradles and3extra stylus for $10. My wife and I like to geocache, and we decided to take a chance on this device so we could geocache sans paper. I was skeptical such an old device would suffice, however I figured it was worth $10 to give it a try. Well, it works wonderfully for paperless geocaching. The memory is more than enough to hold hundreds of cache information pages. In addition, you can download web pages to read at your convenience. Plus all the standard features the device comes with... e-mail, contact management, calculator, the list goes on. Batteries are holding up great, despite my frequent use of the back-light. If you always wanted a PDA, however could not justify the cost of the new ones, give1of these a try. Be warned though, if you are like me, you way find yourself jonesing1of the newer PDAs with a color screen!! |
Rating: 5 (out of 5) Summary: I love this so much I have purchased spares -- I do not know what I'd do without my Palm Comments: Yes, I know it's obsolete and no longer pretty. however it's practical, you do not need to be near a charger. [2AAA's] Battery life is great and you can do amazing things with this thing. And they're tough. It took a great deal to destroy my 1st one: I dropped it and then dropped heavy objects on it. (not intentional) I have dropped the replacements many times and they've survived. Abuse is the only reason for needing replacements. If you do not care about color screens, and you want a nice, clear screen (backlit for use in the dark) and a useful little machine, look out for these -- even the used ones have managed to last and work wonderfully) (I have 3,2in storage,1in use) (I have looked at many of the newer ones and can not see a reason for them, despite the beautiful stuff...) Battery life for1thing. And I can go camping and still have books to read, and if I have spare batteries, no charging is necessary. Now if only my XP worked as well as my Palm OS.... Sigh... |
