Product Reviews: Linksys Antenna Stand for TNC Connectors AS2TNC |
Rating: 5 (out of 5) Summary: Works great!!!!!!!! Comments: It serves the purpose by increasing my wifi signal. I am happy with my purchase. |
Rating: 5 (out of 5) Summary: Excellent Range - Value Comments: No low ratings because somebody did not notice the antennas were not included in the photo or description... Only a 5 Star was they perform well. I put a Range Extender in the middle and wireless reception is exceptionally well in the shop upstairs, a separate building. |
Rating: 5 (out of 5) Summary: Linksys antenna stand Comments: Works really well. I am using the larger, "aftermarket" size antennas and can mount the antennas where they give me the best connection. Also, I did a "custom" mounting (upside down from a rafter) and had to pop the base off the stand for a minute; found they have a metal plate in the stand to act as a ground plane :). My signal strength on the Linksys monitor software went from the 30% range to the mid-50's. Previously, I'd be knocked off the air; sometimes for hours at a time. Now the signal stays at 8-14 db above the noise level and and data usually transfers at 36mbps (receive) and sometimes runs up to the 54mbps G max. Did not bother trying the stand with the original, smaller Linksys antennas that came on the router, a standard Linksys 54G NOT the speed booster or N, as I already purchased and was using the better antennas. The computer is connected with a Linksys USB adapter (no internal card) using a longer USB cable, 10 ft, than came with the adapter for better placement. Setup works well, as mentioned above, at an alalmost all clear, open air Line-Of-Sight (one low angle bounce of about 30 degrees) range of about 190 ft. to the USB adapted desktop PC; and throughout the house at 48/54mbps on a laptop withbuilt in wireless G. |
Rating: 5 (out of 5) Summary: Is great for reposition your antennas Comments: Great, extending with cable do not reduce the reception and moving the antennas place is convinient!! |
Rating: 4 (out of 5) Summary: Does what it's supposed to... Comments: I purchased this item for my WRT54GL with stock antennas running DD-WRT v23 SP2. The router is in the corner-almost all portion of the apartment, placed on the floor and is, unfortunately, covered on 3 sides by the modem (left), the PC (right), and the printer (top). Awful positioning, however that was the only place I could put it. I was getting little to no signal in my room (opposite corner, 30 ft direct distance, with walls and shelves and whatnot in between) and my wireless connection kept dropping whenever I do connect. I figured I'd give this stand a try before purchaseing the expensive high gain antennas (HGA7T). In any case, I am going to need the stand as the HGA7T will not fit underneath the printer. I mounted the antenna as high as the cable would permit, and now, I am getting great to Excellent signal in my room. That's with the stock antennas and only 48mW transmit power so the router runs cooler, too. I believe Linksys default is around 70-80mW.
The only reason I am giving it4stars instead of5is because I think it's a tiny bit expensive for just cable and plastic. The cable could've been a bit longer, too. |
