Summary: Incredible difference
Comments: Was getting terrible wireless reception on an upstairs computer. purchased this and ething changed dramatically. Now it performs as if the computer was next to the router (which is 60-0 away). Linksys should endorse this when they sell their products. I found this the hard way-best $30.00 I ever spent. |

Comments: After purchaseing the stand and attaching my hi-gain antenna I improved my signal strength and was finally able to reach the true input/output speeds

Comments: Not surprisingly, the standard short antenna located among the cables on the back of a desktop computer did not work well.
I tried changing to high gain antennas on both the computer and access point (HGA7S, $49 list and HGA7T, $72 list, both overpriced), however saw no improvement. Then I tried this antenna stand, to move the computer's antenna to a better location (determined by trying several locations within reach of the cable). The signal went from " low" to " great".
I also moved the access point to a place closer to the center of the house (in the top of a closet on the floor below).
Highly endorseed, although it would be nice if the cable was a little longer. |
