Summary: Hoover SteamVac
Comments: This is a must item for a household with kids and heavily travelled carpets. I have been using it for more than a year and I get great results e time. The only addition I make to it is by adding really hot water to the tank and start the cleaning. It makes the dirt disappear and makes your carpet look really fluffy. The upholstery cleaner also helps with cleaning the car and couches. The unit is a bit heavy, however so are all other vacuums so thats never an issue for me. For what it costs to rent a machine from a store($25-30 for few hours), this machine can make the purchase worthwhile in just few cleanings. |

Comments: I,too, purchased this after extensive research and reading of all the reviews. People were so pleased and I was swayed by their raves. My experience was quite different,although, quite similar to the negative reviews. Bottom line: it did not suction up the water. I reread the instructions, cleaned the machine thoroughly and went over and over the wet areas with no luck. little water returned. I ended up using towels and walking back and forth on them to try to get the moisture out. Took a horrendous amount of time. frustrating experience. I also waited too long before I 1st used the machine so that by the time I had this experience it was well past the 30 day return. |

Summary: My spin brushes stopped working on the2I purchased
Comments: I purchased my Hoover Agility from a television shopping show. I loved it when I 1st purchased it. I have beige rugs. I have young children and a cat so need to carpet clean. Before my 1st 30 days was up my brushes stopped spinning on the main unit and it smelled like the belt had burned out and it stopped working all together. I am not sure if there is a belt inside however I remember when I was young my parents had an old vacuum with a belt that would burn out and that's what it reminded up. I called the shopping show customer service and the lady was nice and sent me another one. I sent the broke1back to them. however guess what?!! The second1spin brushes stopped working after the 30 days I had that one. It did not smell like the 1st one, like a belt had worn out. The brushes just stopped. I can still use the carpet cleaning mode however with the heavy traffic on my carpets from the kids, I need the spin brushes. I called a place to get it fixed and the representative said it's $50 just to look at it and they'd tell me how much it would cost to fix it before they did anything. I chose not to fix it because I did not want it to break again. Either it was my luck that I got2of the same product that broke or the product isn't of great lasting quality. I want to hear from folks who have had it for 2 years and use it on a monthly or e other month basis!! |

Summary: Works Great until it breaks
Comments: I purchased this unit about a year ago, and have been happy with its performance. It is light and manageable however still does a great job on my carpets. However, as mentioned in numerous reviews, I was concerned about the flimsy plastic design. Not surprisingly, a hose broke 4 months ago and it had to go in for repair.4months later it is still in the repair shop. Why? - because Hoover (or the company that purchased the Hoover name - PTI) can not seem to be bothered to send the repair shop the replacement parts or if they do they are the wrong ones.
I suspected I might be in for trouble when I had to go to3different shops to find1that would repair Hoovers. The2previous stated the same thing: It was too hard to get parts from Hoover and they did not want the hassle from their clients when they had to wait.
