KitchenAid Pro Line 2-Slice Toaster, Pearl Metallic
Rating: 5 (out of 5)
Summary: Not a great toaster - A great one!!
Comments: I have been a proud owner of the 2-slice pro-line toaster since 2004. It's built like a tank. It has been made with quality like the KitchenAid mixer that eone owns. My wife and I use it alalmost all e single day before we go to work and it has given us consistent even toasting for breads and bagles. Not only does it look sharp in our ultra-modern kitchen however it performs better than any toaster I ever owned. What more could we ask? My family endorses it highly!!

Summary: real disappointment, when I thought I had made a smart investment
Comments: I have had this 2-slice toaster for about 4 months and stopped using it last week after I purchased a $29 Oster as a replacement. Toasting bread with this Kitchen Aid takes about3times as long as a regular toaster. The highest setting (9) takes about 4 minutes to complete, yet toasts come out a little brown however still too soft for my taste (and I like them to be soft inside, not like biscotti!!) For the second cycle, though, I have to readjust the setting to about 3-4, then pull down the lever, and finally turn the On/Off knob to turn the toaster on. Too many steps for1slice of bread. All in all, each slice takes about 6-7 minutes to toast.
The toaster does look nice and is heavy, which I liked at 1st when I received it 4 months ago, and the signal it gives when the toasting cycle is complete is nice. however, in the end, who cares about that?? I prefer a toaster that fulfills its main function properly.

Summary: Toast Lover!!
Comments: I love this toaster!! It is so much better then the Cuisinart, that
I just threw out. The toast browns even and I like the fact that it keeps the toast warm untill ready to eat. This toaster is also heavy duty and will built.

Summary: Pro Line is the Worst!!!! DO NOT purchase!!
Comments: The Kitchen Aid Pro Line line of products are absolute garbage. When I got my kitchen remodeled I wanted to purchase all new, all high-end kitchen counter appliances. I thought (and still do think) that the Pro Line is the best looking line of appliances. My praise stops there.

I started with the coffee maker which I returned within 1 week. The maker made great enough coffee however 1) I had to pull the maker out from under my cabinets to make coffee as it released soooooo much steam and 2) as the steam rose up the side of the machine the condensation would drip down the side leaving a nice puddle of water for me to clean up. An absolute mess.

At the same time I purchased the Pro Line coffee maker. From the outset it was a bit messy as whenever you pull out the glass jar, grounds fall ewhere. I forgave it that flaw as again I was swayed by the look. I realized that after having it for awhile and looking a lot closer at it that it had hairline cracks throughout the entire painted part of the appliance. I have it out of the way on the counter so you can not see the flaws in the paint.

The third and last appliance I purchased was the 4 slice toaster. My mother had a $15 Toastmaster for 20 years that performed better than this piece of junk. From day1I found the toasting to be uneven and definitely not delivering toast worthy of the price I paid for the appliance. I have had the machine just over 2 years now and over the last 2 months the "off/on" dial on1side of the toaster has begun to not always turn on (or off) when turned. It takes a few times of turning. Additionally,2weeks ago a simple lift of the toast lift lever resulted in the black plastic handle snapping in two. I now have a lovely sharp shard of plastic protruding from the machine.

I shop a lot on Amazon and definitely read reviews, however never feel compelled to write one. This is my 1st review ever and I write it to save other consumers the nightmare that has been the last 2 years with Pro Line. I continue to see the expansion of the line and look longingly at the waffle maker, blender, etc. Yet nothing will ever sway me again to purchase anything in this Pro Line. Save yourself the trouble - do not purchase!!!!!!!!

Summary: Consistent toast
Comments: For those who cannot live without toast (and marmalade), the cost of a toaster becomes less material than the results it produces. Sure you can purchase a tosater for $30, however will it treat your bread in an appropriate manner?
The Kitchen Aid Pro Line is a solidly made piece. I purchased it to replace a Dualite that had for years produced spotty toast (even Pain Poulaine) and managed to consistently trap bread underneath its lifter levers. People asked how I could replace the Queen's toaster with this1- well maybe the Queen has someone selecting the great pieces of toast from the Dualite.
This is a nice toaster and if bread is important to you - worth the money.
