KitchenAid KFP710WH 7-Cup Food Processor, White
Rating: 4 (out of 5)
Summary: dough blade
Comments: All I wanted was a dough blade to make pie dough and couldn't find an attachment to purchase for the 7 cuper
Rating: 5 (out of 5)
Summary: versatile and a great purchase
Comments: I needed a food processor for our2person household and I am thrilled I purchased this one. The2bowl sizes let me work with small and larger foods. Ething goes in the dishwasher and cleans up easily. It's not so heavy that I'd hesitate to pull it out of the cupboard for a quick task. I have freshly grated cheese around the house now instead of aging bagged stuff. great purchase!!

Summary: Perfect operation, however deeply flawed for cleaning
Comments: If you do not have a dishwasher, I do not endorse purchaseing this food processor.

It's quick, quiet, powerful, and honestly perfect in e way, so far as its operation is concerned. It makes perfect shredded vegetables, hummus, salsa, purees, ground nuts, etc. The motor is strong, the blades are sharp, and it appears great on the counter.

However, without the sanitizing environment of a dishwasher, you just can not clean the inside of the handle. There is enough space for moisture and tiny bits of food to run into the hollow handle, and no way to remove it for cleaning (I spoke with a Kitchenaid customer service rep, and she confirmed this). Within months of regular use, mold forms inside the handle. This is not exactly the sort of thing I want so close to my food. Also, the inside of the blade is too deep to be reached with a sponge in handwashing, so that gets a little suspect, too. I have tried pouring boiling water and bleach solution into the handle, however it is not clean. Cracking the handle off would break the mechanism that locks the workbowl to the food processor, and replacement bowls run about $35-40 dollars.

Long story short, if you have a dishwasher, you may be fine (unless solid bits get into the handle, which they can and do). If you are not bothered by proximity between fresh food and long-term food rot, then this is the food processor for you.

Summary: Overall a great appliance, however blade options too limited
Comments: I have owned this food processor for about6months and use it often as I do a lot of scratch cooking. It runs smoothly and is easy to use and clean up. It has done ething I have asked of it so far. I would give it5stars IF it had more blade options. It comes with1slicer/shredder combo disk and the chopping blade and that is all you get or can get (I even called the manufacturer to put in a request for more blade options, however am not holding my breath). I would like to be able to slice some things thicker, however this is not possible as no other disks available for this unit. Too bad.
