Product Reviews: Epson Stylus Photo R1800 Inkjet Printer |
Rating: 1 (out of 5) Summary: Worst Printer EVER!! Comments: The printer should come with a sledge hammer so you can smash it to bits when it frustrates the hell out of you...and it will!! Like eone else, I get the media error. It only grabs the paper sometimes and even when it does it starts printing before the paper is under the nozzles so I lose some of the image. It prints a LOT darker than the image appears on screen so you will spend a lot of time making lighter versions of your designs so it will even look close to the screen representation. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this piece of junk!!!!!!!! |
Rating: 1 (out of 5) Summary: EPSON R1800- BECOME A PRO AT PRINTHEAD CLEANING!! Comments: The Epson R-1800 uses huge amounts of ink- not to print the beautiful prints it is capable of, however to constantly unclog it's printhead. If you heed Epson's mandate to use ORIGINAL ink, you will go broke. After time, when you stop using it a lot, it completely fails to clean it's printhead. It's box is sturdy, though, and should supply years of storage use. |
Rating: 1 (out of 5) Summary: LEMON Comments: -5 out of 5 stars Bad printer - do not waste your money - LEMON!!!!!!!!!! I purchased this printer because of all the rave reviews. I have had it a year and have not have even1great print. The ink is expensive. The printer eats cartridges. When the color only printed out blue I tried to clean the cartridges, and while cleaning the cartridges I went through 4X of each of the 7 colors. It cost a fortune!! I kept thinking it was a fluke, maybe the ink was all dried up. however even purchaseing cartridges from different stores did not help. My computer said it was out of ink each time a new cartridge was inserted. I ended up spending more on ink than the computer cost. Throwing it out the window would be a delight except that would be more effort than this printer is worth.

Rating: 1 (out of 5) Summary: upset Comments: I got his printer in Feb of 2006 b/c I wanted a large format printer...now in 2008 it will no longer print. And y? Well out of media, paper not loaded correctly. I have read the reviews and tried ething..however still not working.2of my friends have this printer and1of them works fine..the other1same problem. Its tempermental!! I had a epson printer in 2002 and it did the same thing..after a year...then they sent me 2 more referbished ones still same problem. My sister has the epson C86 its aweful!! it eats INK,,and the black ink cost 30 dollars!! It makes lines through the prints and the text printing is terrible!! I do not know what to do or what printer to purchase. Then i called espon and they said they never heard of the "out of media, paper not loaded correctly problem" liars..all they have to do is check message boards like these. |
Rating: 2 (out of 5) Summary: A moody model Comments: I purchased the R1800 as it was by far the almost all endorseed for my printing needs. however within the 1st weeks it started to complain about media not being loaded properly and was struggling to grab onto any paper. I worked with it and patiently re-fed sheets when it acted up, however of course, it would then act fine for a few days (just so you will not call customer service...). Finally (at the worst moment, obviously) it completely gave up and stopped working completely. After going through the epson customer service steps, which I have to say are a bit tedious and the customer care calls a little frustrating (bad internet phone line to god knows where), epson finally agreed to send me a replacement. Needless to say (hence bad review), that1did not work well for more than 2 weeks. So, now I am on the third one, without any guarantee, they quote it as out of stock and therefore replace broken ones with, yes, refurbished ones. Not really the kind of warranty you would expect with a 600 printer. Granted, the quality is great, when it prints, if it prints. almost all of my colleagues agree with frustrations, almost all are having problems with them. however I somehow feel it should be more than just great quality, however also, stability, service etc. for this price tag. And consistency would be nice, i.e. not deciding to only allow plain paper for 2 days. Like I said - A moody model. |
