Eforcity Wi-Fi Booster Antenna for D-link DWL520, Linksys WMP11, WET11, Netgear MA311, or D-link Aps, 2400-2483 MHz, 6ft
Rating: 5 (out of 5)
Summary: Did what I needed
Comments: The antenna on my wifi card was having trouble with the signal from down the hall, with the signal strength being so-so and almost all packets having to be resent due to errors. With this antenna, which was able to place in a better location, signal strength and quality are just fine. And it's cheap. :-)
Rating: 4 (out of 5)
Summary: It Works
Comments: Hey, what can I say. It's an antenna with a magnetic base to hold it onto the top of my curtain rods, and it works!! It gets a better signal up there because it's higher than the1that was on the back of my tower, sitting on the floor. The best selling point to this1is the 9' wire, nobody else seems to make1that long, and it's majorly inexpensive!!!!!!

Summary: No better
Comments: I purchased this with the hopes that it would increase the range of my wireless router. It actually is worse than the original D-Link antenna.

Summary: The price is right and it does what it's supposed to
Comments: At 1st, I wasn't sure if I liked this little antenna or not. There isn't much to it... it's got a connector, a cord, a magnetic base (which is pretty strong by the way) and of course the antenna itself. It did not seem to give me much of an improvement until I learned how to pick the correct location for it...

The biggest benefit of having1of these is flexibility of placement. With antennas, correct placement is crucial. I purchased two:1for my desktop PC and1for my router. These antennas aren't necessarily any more sensitive than the little plastic ones that come with wifi cards and access points, however being able to move the antenna location from behind the PC on the floor (which is where almost all people with wireless cards have their antennas) to the top of your desk or on top of your monitor makes a big difference right away.

Now, if you are really serious about getting the best performance out of this antenna, I would suggest you download a program called NetStumbler. It will let you see the S/N ratio in dBm and it updates in real-time. This lets you get perfect placement with your antenna. You'd be amazed what a difference an inch to the left or right can make. I have a feeling a lot of people who have problems with aftermarket wifi antennas are not placing them properly.

For $5.54 each plus a couple bucks for shipping, this antenna can not be beat.

Summary: did not work as well as I thought
Comments: I purchased this product thinking I could pick up signal better where I was in a downstairs apartment, however still nothing. It was able to connect1day fine, however kept getting kicked offline. It may have just been my location. I'll try it again If I ever need it and may feel differently then.
