Product Reviews: Pro-Grade 7" Bench Top Wet Tile Saw - 1/2 HP 3600 RPM |
Rating: 3 (out of 5) Summary: Okay for small projects Comments: This made in China tile saw is worth exactly what it costs - which is less than what a decent diamond tile blade costs.
Which is the 1st point to really know about this saw. do not expect it to work AT ALL until you purchase a new blade. The blade that comes mounted is absolutely worthless. So when you purchase this saw also purchase a brand named tile blade here at Amazon.
This saw will really cost you about $120 once you pay for shipping and replace the blade, so if your project can be completed with about2days of renting a nice saw - go rent the professional saw. If renting isn't an option, then this saw WILL get the job done. however be prepared to fiddle with it to get your cuts done right.
Mechanically the saw has been functional and it appears that it will make it through the current project and possibly the next as well. |
Rating: 4 (out of 5) Summary: great bargain for wet saw Comments: When I 1st found this product it had a 1 star review because someone purchased it for their husband and gave it1star and said "got it as a gift, not sure about product". I am always irritated about reviews like that so I figured I would add my own to this product.
I also received this as a gift however I knew I wanted it because it was on my wishlist. So far I have used it for a travertine backsplash and ceramic tiles. The saw performed well except it did not cut the travertine as quick as the ceramic. I put the blame for that on the blade since the RPMs are sufficient. Other people have suggested purchaseing a new blade and I might give that a shot as well. Construction is quite sturdy, the whole ting is quite heavy and mine is all metal. Fence is nice, I have adjusted the latch to supply a tighter grip on the surface. I even used this saw for scoring lines on my 12x8 retaining wall blocks and it scored and made cuts nicely!!
For the price this is a great saw for the DIYer and small projects around the house. |
Rating: 5 (out of 5) Summary: Excellent Little Saw Comments: I purchased this saw to do a kitchen backsplash project. I was pleased to see the sturdy metal construction and found it to have plenty of power to cut my 4 x 4 Travertine tiles. The saw blade that comes with it is 'el cheapo'. I spent another $35 bucks on a DeWalt diamond blade and was pleased with the performance. With the new blade, it cut through the Travertine stone tiles like howeverter. Overall, this is a great saw for the DIY. |
Rating: 1 (out of 5) Summary: OH boy, do not waste your hard earned $$$. Comments: I had a 200 square foot kitchen floor to tile and thought heck I'll purchase a saw rather than rent1so I searched and searched and thought this1would be great. The saw arrived and it was just a joke!! The tool was built like a cheap toy. The blade guard and it's mounting bracket did not come close to fitting or lining up with the blade, in fact the bracket rubbed on the blade no matter how it was adjusted. The blade guard is important because it's what keeps the water from creating a "rooster tail" and keeps the water focused on the tile and around the blade. The motor had such a vibration to it that I was afraid to run it. I contacted the seller and sent this thing back ASAP. I then purchased the little 4" PlasPlug wet saw in it's place and it performed like a charm and I used it to make 145 cuts on my tile for the floor. Do yourself a favor and do not order this saw!! |
Rating: 4 (out of 5) Summary: Bargain Comments: This is a great saw for the DIY. It is almost allly metal, not plastic. I just finished doing my countertops with 12x12 granite tiles. The saw performed fine. It will wet you, however almost all wet saws will. The guide fence is fine, however do not trust the scale, measure yourself. Just make sure you throw away the blade that comes with it, it is trash. I purchased a great blade after trying the1that comes with the saw. Investing the few extra dollars was well worth it. The saw has plenty of rpms to handle granite, so it should work really well with anything else. You can not beat the price, it would cost you alalmost all as much to rent a wet saw for a day. Deli was quick. |
