Product Reviews: Cuisinart Chef's Classic Stainless 16-Inch Roaster with Rack and 3 Piece Roasting Set |
Rating: 4 (out of 5) Summary: works great, easy to clean Comments: I am happy with this roasting pan. I agree with the other reviewers: it is on the larger side (with the handles it is more like 20 + inches long, not 16) however it fits in my oven just fine. I have found that it is sturdy and distrihoweveres heat evenly. And it's easy to clean, too. Definitely endorseed. |
Rating: 5 (out of 5) Summary: Pleased with Cuisinart Roasting Pan Comments: I was pleased with the quality of the Cuisinart Roasting Pan and will enjoy using it for many years to come. |
Rating: 5 (out of 5) Summary: Eone should have one, this1is the best !!!!!! Comments: I have many pans, and pots, yet for a long time I resisted getting this roaster. many of the Food Network Host's use this type of pan I felt perhaps I was behind in time. I purchased this roaster and have used it several times now. Quite honestly I found this pan useful and logical for cooking large meats that you are roasting. Rib Roast's, Turkey's, Ham's all cook well in this pan. |
Rating: 4 (out of 5) Summary: Works Great Comments: 1st, to address the other reviews, yes the advertising copy for this item is incorrect. Evidently they have reused the text for the other items in this product line: "Cuisinart Chef's Classic Stainless Cookware." The problem is, those other items have aluminum encapsulated bottoms and stainless lids (they are stove top pans, not roasters.) This item has neither. I took1star off for that.
As a roaster, however, and IF it will fit into your oven, it is a handsome, sturdy piece of cookware. I have a vintage stove, from the days when ovens were built narrow and deep. It works great in my oven. My sister has a modern oven (wide and shallow.) It fits fine in her oven, however she has to put it in sideways.
do not purchase it unless it will fit in your oven. Measure it: it needs 21" in the longest dimension. |
Rating: 2 (out of 5) Summary: Measurements Deceiving--Will It Fit In Your Oven? Comments: We have a (high end) wall oven and we already know that it is smaller than some freestanding stoves or professional ovens that some people have in their homes.
We purchased this pan as it was advertised as being a 16 inch pan. We knew that our oven does hold a 16 inch pan.
However when we got it home we realized that the handles splay out so far that it did not fit in the oven. I know there is an image on the box however we did not realize that they added5inches to the pan size. After this debacle I measured the pan at home, to satisfy our curiosity, and so I could be accurate in this review.
I wanted to share this with you, so you can double check the interior size of your oven versus the size of this pan from end to end.
The interior of the pan is 16 inches and I know that it is correct in the industry to label a pan by the interior "cooking space". However when purchaseing a pan you need to know what the total size of the pan is in order to know if it will fit inside of your oven.
The measurement from the interior of the pan to the end of each handle is 2.5 inches so that means the entire pan is 21 inches long. That meant it did not fit inside of our oven. Thank greatness we happened to have a disposable aluminum pan on hand or we would have had nothing to cook our Thanksgiving turkey in.
And now we have to return our (unused, new) pan.
There is no need for the handles to splay out that far, in my opinion this is a poor design and that brings my review down to 2 stars.
Our former pan of another brand had loop type handles that were easy to grip which went straight upward which allowed for a larger interior pan size in a smaller oven. Our quest for a large roasting pan that will hold a 25 pound turkey that can fit into our wall oven continues...
