Summary: Delonhi USA- The worst service for spare parts that you can imagine
Comments: I have an older model (PAC10) which is nothing I would endorse. It is huge although is called portable (it appears slim only from certain angle used in pictures) and was just expensive for what it is. It is alalmost all as noisy as window AC. If you really want European standard AC, that is quiet; energy efficient and does not need window or duct work, I would advise to check "mini split ductless" type of AC/Heat Pump (these need technician to install them though).
The reason I write here is that at certain point you will need to purchase parts or accessories from DeLonghi authorized supplyr in the USA, Fox International. This is the worst possible (unimaginable) service that you may get. I have placed an order 1 month ago and my order status is still "processing, check in 24 hours". Knowing that spare parts will be needed not too long after purchase, I strongly endorse choosing another brand.

Comments: I would only purchase this over a window AC unit if you value the portability. It is quite heavy, however is on wheels so it is portable. AC unit cools well. Window insert is poorly designed, so you need to use putty or something else to modify the fit in the window sill to prevent the flow of warm outdoor air into the room. |

Summary: Totally worth the money!!
Comments: This air conditioner definitely does what it says it does. It cools quickly and is fairly compact. Pretty powerful for the size. Simple and easy to set up.
The 1st unit that arrived was damaged during transit. This is the only real downfall in ordering this machine from Amazon. The air conditioner is shipped in the same box that you would get it in if you purchased this from a brick and mortar store. So, if the shipping people decide to drop it, the unit stands a great chance of being damaged.
I did have to return the 1st air conditioner. Amazon was quick to replace it. The second1arrived without any damage whatsoever.
Both units were brand new. They weren't refurbs nor were they returns.
The only reason that I did not give this 5 stars is the shipping damage issue though that has nothing to do with this product's performance. however we were in the middle of a massive heat wave, my house air conditioner broke (!!) over Labor Day weekend and waiting a couple more days for a working unit was agonizing. (yes, we are still waiting for the repairperson to fix our home ac.)
All in all, I am quite pleased with my purchase and yes, I would endorse this product!! |
