Summary: Not for picking up ash.
Comments: I purchased this unit based on reviews and that it is corded (more power). Well I pluged it in and it worked for about 1 minutes worth of vacuuming up ash from my pellet stove. It quickly over heated and shut down. I returned it and I am now looking for a different, great hand held vacuum. |

Comments: This little machine has great suction however is limited in flexibility - hard-to-reach areas are difficult. The attachments are so-so. The brush barely picks up at all. The flat tool has great suction however could have a wider surface area. Still, it will go where your big vac will not and it's not too heavy. |

Comments: Works better than I thought it would, only used once at this point, did have to work alittle to get stuff from the corners, and had to "tug" alittle for certain areas. Otherwise pleased. |

Comments: We purchased this hand-held to pick up dog fur and also to get dust off of our dogs fur. The suction is definitely not up to par. I'd compare the suction to1of those inexpensive,unknown name brand vac's you purchase at K-mart or some other retailer for 19.95 or less. For a small hand held it is loud and does heat up quickly. This machine is overpriced and I expected much better from Black & Decker. I would definitely shop around for a higher quality hand-held and only purchase this unit if it is a last resort. It failed miserably when used to suck up dog fur from a futon mattress, a leather recliner chair. By the way, this unit absolutely will not pick up dust from a computer/keyboard, nor should it be used as such (i.e. as a data vac). |

Comments: We are pleased with this vacuum. It has great suction and picks up hair and crumbs well. It also comes with a long cord so you can plug it in and reach a long area. I endorse this hand vacuum. |
