Rating: 5 (out of 5) Summary: awesome doggy Comments: I have seen advertisements for the Irobot and was not too impressed since I have tried other small sweepers that are suppose to be so powerful and work so great, NOT!!!!!!!! Then a coworker saw me reading about the Irobot and told me she had1and she loved it. She like me has dogs and cats in her house. It doesn't replace a heavy vacumming job, however used e day or e other day the Irobot does a great job and it is pretty powerful for picking up cat and dog hair and crumbs behind children. I love the IROBOT!! glad I purchased it, actually2of them. |
Rating: 4 (out of 5) Summary: Dirt Dog Comments: I am happy with this product. I got it to clean up our basement. It picks up all the cat litter and all sorts of stuff. Our basement is cluttered and difficult to vacuum. I like just starting Dirt Dog off and going down later to plug it back in. It is nice to see the clean carpet!! The only problem is that it can be difficult to find it after it is finished. It cleans both the carpet and the unfinished cement. The large bin holds quite a bit however I have had to empty it half way through |
Rating: 3 (out of 5) Summary: I am torn on the Dirt Dog.... Comments: The Dirt Dog is a great little machine in certain regards yet not so great in others. I have almost allly hardwood and tile in my home, so after reading all the reviews I thought this would be the perfect machine for me, as I am constantly fighting the Battle of the Dog Hair. The Dirt Dog does indeed do an excellent job of sweeping hard floor surfaces, and it zips under the furniture and beds effortlessly, picking up all traces of dog hair, dust, and debris.
The Dirt Dog has its downfalls, though. It's loud - it's LOUD!!!!!! I find it to be louder than my Miele canister vacuum. You may ask what the issue is if the vacuum makes noise too. Well, the issue is that the Dog takes a long time to clean a room. I can deal with the vacuum noise for a short while, however the Dog takes anywhere from 30-45 minutes to clean an average-sized bedroom, and that's just too long of a period to have to listen to all that racket. Keep in mind that if I want another room cleaned, the noisy time doubles. Even if I go to another level in the house or close the door to the room being cleaned, I can *still* hear the blasted thing - it's that loud. I can also hear the constant bang!! as it bumps into walls and other objects.
As mentioned, it takes a long time to clean a room. At times this is not an issue, however other times it is, as it's not convenient to be in the same room that it is cleaning, so I have to plan my activities accordingly (and again - the noise!!). It has fallen down the same set of stairs3times in the last2days - this can not be great for the machine - and I am not going to pay extra to have a "virtual wall", I feel this contraption should be capable of figuring out there is a drop-off there (1st time I understand, however3times down the same set of stairs in2days? C'mon...). It does not do well on low-pile area rugs. It did a light surface sweeping of the rugs, however I do not feel they were really cleaned well after the Dog was through, so, again, I had to pull out the vacuum. Also, when it went from the rug back down onto the tile, it dumped a bit of a dirt load at the edge of the rug each time - vacuum to the rescue once again. It also can not fit into tighter spaces, such as around the toilet or between an object and a wall if the object is somewhat close to the wall, because it's a wide disc, so my rooms aren't getting all areas cleaned as they should - and you know darn well I had to pull out the vacuum again!!
Unfortunately, I'll be returning mine. I do feel it is a great machine when used in particular environments, however in my home I find the cons to outweigh the pros.

Rating: 5 (out of 5) Summary: Great little guy Comments: This little dog is the best. With neck and back problems and a dog, cat, husband, and kids, the Dirt Dog takes a load off of me. We have wood floating floors or laminate flooring, whichever you prefer to call it, through alalmost all all of our home and the "dog" does a great job!! We block him off in which room we want cleaned and he does a wonderful job. On carpet or large area rugs, "Ol Yeller" just doesn't do the job, however 10 minutes running a sweeper is better than 2 hours!! Glad we found another dog for our home - he even cleans dog and cat hair up like you will not believe. Our floors are alalmost all spotless, even if it is for only 30 minutes. Enjoy!! |
