Summary: Dead in less than 1.5 years Rating: 1 out of 5 Date: 2009-03-09 I loved this camera because it took great pictures. However, it's not durable. I purchased it in Nov 2007. In less than 1 year 4 months, it's completely dead. I'd never dropped it onto the floor. I went to the manufacturer website and quoted for repair, the estimate repair cost is $129.

Summary: 1 year review Rating: 5 out of 5 Date: 2009-03-02 i have had this camera for over a year now, and it is still doing great. (just jinxed it, lol). they did not ship to APO unfortunately, as almost all companies do not, however i did manage to get it sent to me by other means.
Nice point and shoot. i took some great pictures of the cherry blossoms the other day, beautiful. still working on night shots, they are not so great, unless you have a really steady hand (or use flash, which defeats the purpose of night shots).
either way, its a great camera. i personally prefer point & shoot to the bigger $1000 cameras, however I am not into picture taking that much. would reccomend cannon to anyone, they make a durable product. had my last1for some time before i broke it in iraq. this1has done great so far.

Summary: Has this camera "died" for anyone else? Rating: 3 out of 5 Date: 2009-02-21 I have owned this camera since Christmas 2007. During a trip overseas in January 2009,1month after the camera's warranty expired, the camera died. It will not power on. Up until then, I was happy and pleased with this camera. Its size is perfect to carry in a purse, and I keep it in a leather carry case to protect the LCD screen. I always carry a spare battery plus cards. I have always purchased Canon digital products; this is my third camera and I have been pleased with all of them.
So tell me: has this happened to anyone else? If so, were you able to get the camera fixed to your satisfaction? I want a camera that is trustworthy, that I know will be there when I pull it out of its case to snap a shot, be it in Florence, Amsterdam, or 5 minutes from my home.
Update: I wrote to Canon Customer Service and was sent a UPS mailing label. I shipped the camera to Illinois and it was returned to me last week, fixed!! They replaced a few items and did not charge me anything. I am thrilled to have my camera back again.

Summary: AWESOME Rating: 5 out of 5 Date: 2009-02-17 I owned the model right before this (10 mpx) and loved it - however it got damaged in a canoe accident. And Canon sent me the 12mpx as a replacement under my warranty. I LOVE this camera. It's light, fits in my pocket, and has never let me down in a photo situation. I have taken well over 10,000 pictures and actually had to get a seperate hard drive to keep them all on. If youa re looking for an easy to use camera that can run with the big boys - this is it.
I love the color swap and color accent options, they can give some pretty interesting photos. Takes great night shots and macro mode is awesome.
I have no complaints on this camera - if I had to pick one, it would be the access door for the UBS cord - it's flimsy.
Other than that - 5 STARS all the way across the board.
(avid photographer, has higher end models, however really prefers the ease and size of this one)

Summary: great pictures!! Rating: 5 out of 5 Date: 2009-01-12 This camera is the best point and shoot. The pictures are clear and defined. Many point and shoots do not have the definition. There are no worries with this camera. Also when you snap the picture, the picture is actually taken unlike my Sony Powershot where there is a bit of a delay so you have to hold the camera in you've taken the picture. A great purchase for quality and convenience.
