TiVo is the real tag/topic here. TiVo HD box and SONY Bravia are upstairs. Linksys WRT54GS wireless router is downstairs. With WET54G the TiVo was on the network / internet in 35 minutes from "configure on PC-to-plug in to power upstairs-get TiVo to recognize the network IP-watch the slides on downstairs PC on the wide-screen HD TV upstairs." That included the time messing around reading the directions, etc.

Limitations placed on setting up the equipment render it useless for me. And Linksys has the worst customer service I have ever experienced, I believe it is time they raise their standards and hire people with at minimum a high school degree. Last time I purchased a linksys product I said that would be the last time, and here I find myself again purchaseing a linksys product again, and nothing has changed.

Im happy with the wireless g ethernet bridge...it was easy to program through the computer, then attach to my direct tv receiver in my basement. It run effectively and is reasonably quick and does not slow down my network at all.

The WET54G pretty much does what you'd expect. It's a perfectly workable Wireless Ethernet Bridge for Wireless-G. It's a little easy to overload with data though. It might have been better to design this thing to support a consistant stream of data at Wireless G rates.

Have spend several hours trying to make this work reliably (surprisingly, with a Linksys WAP4400N access point). It performs way too badly to cost this much.

1) Version shipped is 3.1. Linksys' web site does not even list version 3.1 firmware. Last firmware release is for 3.0, back in 2007.
2) The configuration utility allows choice of WPA2. It does not work. only WPA/TKIP does work.
3) do not bother with the CDROM. It did not detect the directly-attached bridge. Just use the Web-base configuration tool.
4) Even when it connected to my access point, it drops lots of packets. And loses connection after a few hours and has to be power-cycled.

This product just is not worth the hassle - look elsewhere. Returning product to Amazon as basically defective.
