    Summary: short range

I have this coupled with a WGA600N and at 30 feet I only get 39% signal strength. Not what I would expect from wireless n.

    Summary: Great product, useless software

I switched from straight RDP to VPN for work, and discovered that my Belkin router wouldn't support VPN. I had no idea the quality of the router made so much difference!! Ething on our home network, including the wired connections, works much better with this router. It's a terrific product.

It came with an install program with an "install 1st" warning, like many USB products. It is not necessary, and does not work at all. All it ever gave me was a "not connected to internet" message, whether I was connected with the new router or the old one. So my suggestion is, by the router, configure it yourself, ditch the support disk.

Summary: Alalmost all a terrific router

This router apparently has a history of intermittent drops and failures. My own unit certainly does. When I call Cisco/Linksys explaining dropped wireless, poor signal reach, etc... they want to change settings, then promise all will be well. I told them my guess was design flaw where unit overheats and fails when left on. Representative denied this. After years of crappy service with this router, I was ready to junk it/replace it. Instead, I grabbed my heat knife, and cut that blue (tiny air hole) cover off top and bottom, leaving blue corner "feet" on bottom to elevate the unit for better air flow. There is a 2nd layer of black plastic air holes (design?) under the blue plastic. automatically, my router cooled, and now I have "STRONG SIGNAL" in my house where before it was " LOW" or "CANNOT FIND WIRELESS." Alalmost all a week now, and no dropped wireless yet, even 50' away in bedroom. In my opinion, Linksys designed poor air flow here. (The 2nd black layer of holes renders perhaps 1/2 of the TINY blue holes completely blocked!!!! AND when set flat on its feet, there is alalmost all NO room for air to flow underneath unit!!!!) If yours gets warm/hot on bottom (I expect it does), this may solve your problems. Hopefully this will save you frustration and headache.

    Summary: Reliable

appears like installing DD-WRT makes this device even better, however I am not having any problems with this refurbished device, so I haven't bothered upgrading. No dropped connections and no problems with VPN (I use it to get to work) that I was seeing with2different D-Link devices I tried before this, so I am sold on Linksys for a while

    Summary: Not a great refurb
    Rating: 1 out of 5   Date: 2009-01-16
I thought a refurbished product from a name brand vendor would be a great bet. The unit did not recognize my pc connection and the trouble shooting guide indicated a defective unit. I am totally disappointed. I purchased another brand and new.
