Canon SX230 marginal benefits for $

Pros: Bigger, heavier than SD790, due to zoom probably, but will fit in pocket

Cons: Auto exposure, dynamic range, battery life, ergonomics, screen size, touchy playback dial

The Bottom Line: There must be something better out there...maybe the Panasonic zooms?

Pros: Excellent image quality, improved low-light performance, improved HD movie mode, and a 14x zoom

Cons: Expensive

The Bottom Line: Most digicam updates are more about cosmetics than actual improvements – that’s not the case with SX230 HS.
