Michener's _Alaska:_ takes the reader from prehistory to the modern day

Pros: Characters that you can believe.

Cons: Anthropormophication of mastodons and a salmon, fer cryin' out loud.

The Bottom Line: A very good, very interesting account of Alaskan history and peoples. Not quite a novel, so takes some getting used to.

Outstanding piece of work!

Pros: Entertaining way to learn about the great state of Alaska

Cons: Not enough hours in the day to dedicate to reading this book.

The Bottom Line: Definitely buy or borrow this novel. It's a fantastic read on the history and people of Alaska from millions of years ago to recent present day.
