Great alternative to MP3
by kb9vrg, Feb 26, 2004
Pros: Small size, battery life, ATRAC3 Sounds better than MP3, media is cheap.
Cons: DRM restrictions on MP3. Simple Burner doesn't support SP mode recording.
The Bottom Line: Great sound, portable, and easy to expand. If you're thinking of making all your CD's into MP3, take pause and consider ATRAC and a NetMD.

OK Portable Player. Limited Audio Recorder. Sony Loves RIAA
by bertbert, Feb 25, 2004
Pros: Good sound, Good price, Good accessories.
Cons: Recording function is almost useless. Files Checking (in/out) is almost a deal breaker.
The Bottom Line: Avoid the MD. For playback you probably are better off with MP3 players. As a recording tool, if you get it, you have to form support groups to get through.

Not worth the trouble...get a regular CD-MP3 player instead..
by smille76, Feb 21, 2004
Pros: Unit looks nice...
Cons: Lots of problems, unit seems to be DOA, poor Sony tech support, lousy software..
The Bottom Line: Don't waste your time and money on this. It is an underground technology supported by tech-freaks. Get a regular CD-MP3 instead.
