Pros: Excellent images, battery life (LCD off), small and compact, easy to use.
Cons: Not as feature rich as competition, battery life (LCD on)

Pros: Excellent picture quality in bright conditions, light weight.
Cons: Fragile - there are somethings you MUST avoid doing with this camera.

Canon PowerShot S500 GREAT CAMERA

Pros: Compact, easy to use, and loaded with options.
Cons: Needs a cloth case to prevent any scratches while in my pocket.
The Bottom Line: This camera has all I need and is compact enough to take with me anywhere. If you haven't entered into digital yet, this is a great camera to start.

Pros: Picture quality, manual controls, movie mode quality ( VGA ),perfect size, solidly built
Cons: movie mode framerate, installation issues with canon utilities, some red-eye here and there,pricey

GREAT CAMERA.....but what is that spot on the LCD?

Pros: Small, quick focusing. Ideal for little children. Great for candid moments.
Cons: Watch out for bad LCD. Gets warm rather quickly.
The Bottom Line: Good buy with the extended warranty. Canon generally has good CS unlike Sony. If you take posed snaps buy the DSC-P10. For shooting Kids/Pets get this or the S410.
