Pros: The lens delivers some amazing looking photos
Cons: I do miss the image stabilization functionality.
The Bottom Line: The EF 100mm f/2.8 USM Macro Lens delivers some pin sharp photos at a very nice price. It's not an L-series lens, but it should be!

Macro opens up a new world

Pros: Sharp images, great depth of field and bokeh.
Cons: The lens is heavy and kind of long. No image stabilization

Pros: Minimum distance (310mm), fast optics, great sharpness, good for portrait and Macro
Cons: No environmental seals, no IS, relatively long
The Bottom Line: Sharp pictures, good price and good speed, but not quite "pro" grade build nor the fastest portrait lens.

Pros: Sharp sharp sharp; manual adjustment for autofocus; great contrast, color.
Cons: Have to back up a long way for portraits and regular shots.
The Bottom Line: Make this your first prime lens. Open up the whole world of seeing and shooting close-in subjects.

Pros: IMAGE QUALITY, SHARPNESS, COLOR RENDITION, VERY SHORT DOF. GREAT FEEL ON DIGITAL REBEL. VERY SHARP!!!!
Cons: HOOD NOT INCLUDED, FOCUS RING MAY BE A LITTLE LOOSE, MINOR GRIPES, CONSIDERING IMAGE QUALITY.

Pros: Solid, quiet, sharp, versatile, fast, dependable.
Cons: None to speak of.
