My new favorite lens
by hzoi, Feb 8, 2010
Pros: f/2.8 max aperture and IS are a great combination.
Cons: Heavy, and you'll want at least one teleconverter to extend its reach.
The Bottom Line: If you have the money, the 70-200mm f/2.8 L IS USM is a wonderful lens. If you don't, the 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS USM is a great lens as well.
Review: The Canon 70-200mm f/2.8 L IS USM is a wonderful, wonderful telephoto lens. It's sha ...

Cons: Tripod collar not included
The Bottom Line: Great mid to tele lens to use in real life usage. Doesn't bog you down like an f/2.8 version of the 70-200. Great value.

Sharp Lens
by o2b4ft11, Aug 18, 2008
Pros: Sharp, looks professional
Cons: Can sometimes get too much attention, aperture not always enough in low light
The Bottom Line: If you are on a budget and want an L series lens. If you have the money, I recommend the F/2.8 IS over this one though.
Review: I purchased this lens as it was, at the time, the only L series lens I could afford. Although many p ...

Great telezoom, even better for a cropped frame camera
by ncphototrekker, Mar 7, 2008
Pros: Light, sharp, well built, image stabilization, and smooth operation.
Cons: The tripod collar is not included, but is available as an accessory.
