3 year update of: I Really LOVE my camera !
by lovemyputer, Nov 16, 2008
Pros: Zoom, MACRO, great Colors, clear, sharp photos & Video clips, LCD screen Tilts & Rotates
Cons: Red eyes when shooting with the built-in flash.Large file size of video clips.
The Bottom Line: HIGHLY recommended! SO versatile, yet just set on "Auto", you get great results. It's 1-1/2 years since its release, so the price has dropped considerably.
Review: This first paragraph is an update that I'm writing now that my S5IS Canon Powershot camera has taken ...

Canon Powershot S5 IS - Compact, light, and versatile
by fatherjohnaz, Oct 23, 2008
Pros: Light, zoom, built in lens, batteries, macro, durability, ease of use
Cons: Can't swap lenses; "only" 8 MP. UPDATE: only JPEG, no RAW
The Bottom Line: If you want a camera to carry around for fast shots with both zoom and macro, this is the one for you. If you want enlargements, get an SLR.
Review: I bought the Canon Powershot S5 IS in October 2007 to use on a trip to New England. Here are some of ...

One Step Forward, Two Steps Back: CANon ?
by Thorbjore, Oct 7, 2008
Pros: Low ISO photos are incomparable! Feels right in my hand, great size/weight.
Cons: NOISY low light photos. Poor stamina. Battery with memory card. Pooped on me.
The Bottom Line: The S3 was exquisite. This is ... NOT. For all its mumbo jumbo and high tech additions, they have sacrificed quality.
Review: Disappointed! That is me in a nutshell. I was the proud owner of this model's predecessor, the S3 fr ...

Excellent choice
by reednowensmom, Sep 10, 2008
Pros: Zoom, Hotshoe, Layout, LCD, Pictures, Focus Checking, Size/weight
Cons: Noisy, Lens cap, Available accessories
The Bottom Line: This camera is a smart choice for anyone. My 4 year old can operate this camera on the auto setting, yet I can still take excellent pictures on manual.
Review: I love photography, and as much as I'd love to own a dSLR it's just not in my budget at the moment. ...

Great While it Lasted, but it only lasted 5 months
by eggsngrits, Jul 3, 2008
Pros: Fast, clear pictures, good focal range
Cons: Horrible reliability record, poor customer service
The Bottom Line: I recommend that anyone considering Canon products should be aware that Canon will not service their flawed product.
